A body of work exhibited by the Royal Horticultural Society and in the windows of Whitards of Chelsea, Chelmsford. The images have been produced as limited edition prints, silk scarves and in collaboration with potter Neville Tatham, ceramic pieces. Each image reflects the travels and finds of the Victorian plant hunters.

“The style alludes to the hugely popular natural history paintings of the time, revealing wildlife and artefacts with which the plant hunters shared a connection to further the sense of the exotic.  In many cases the plants included are now ubiquitous in our modern landscapes, but at the time of their discovery they were rare and exciting new specimens. Plant hunters had to be tough to survive the conditions they faced in far-flung corners of the world as they encountered shipwrecks, sieges and hostile natives.  The historical impact of these plant hunters should not be underestimated and this exhibition pays tribute to these heroes of their time.” RHS Hyde Hall
